What Does the Arizona State Treasurer Do?
|
The State Treasurer protects, manages, and invests taxpayer dollars. The treasurer is responsible for $23 billion of taxpayer dollars that is brought in through local taxes and fees. It is also the treasurer’s job to ensure state agencies receive the funds assigned to them, such as public schools and local government.

The State Treasurer acts as Arizona’s Banker for taxpayer dollars. It is their job to protect tax dollars by maintaining a separate accounting system to provide a check and balance on the state accounting system to ensure funds are distributed properly.

The State Treasurer offers financial education programs to help Arizonans understand basic money management.
